What was claimed
'NVIDIA App 11.0.9.565 adds a local MCP server ... NVIDIA's release notes name Hermes, OpenClaw and Perplexity as examples ... The server listens only on the local machine (127.0.0.1, port 13508) ... turn it off under Settings > Features.'

What we found
Held up. NVIDIA's own page for 11.0.9.565 lists AI Agent Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and names Hermes, OpenClaw and Perplexity. VideoCardz gives the local address (127.0.0.1, port 13508), found it on after updating, and gives the off switch (Settings > Features > Connect Agents & Apps). NVIDIA's page itself does not say it is on by default; it calls the section AI Agents and App Connections.

How we checked it
NVIDIA's release highlights page and the two reports, saved at run time. Answer key written 08:14:39 UTC+8, before the run.
What the agent did
- Fetched nvidia.com release highlights (200): section 'What's new in NVIDIA App 11.0.9.565'
- Found 'your AI assistant like Hermes, OpenClaw or Perplexity' in NVIDIA's text
- VideoCardz (200): 127.0.0.1, default port 13508, enabled after updating, off switch in Settings
- Comss.ru (200): same port, fallback ports, on by default on its test PC
Sites and APIs touched: nvidia.com, videocardz.com, comss.ru.
Where it went wrong
- Not tested on a real PC: we did not install the app or connect an agent to it.
- 'On by default' comes from VideoCardz and Comss.ru, not from NVIDIA.
- NVIDIA's page and the in-app label (per VideoCardz) name the setting differently.
Try it yourself
Does the new NVIDIA App update add an MCP server for AI agents? What can it do, is it on by default, and how do I turn it off? Cite the release notes.
Lowest-access way to try it
L0. Ask the agent to quote NVIDIA's own release notes and to say which details come only from news reports. If you have the app, check Settings > Features yourself.
