Sponsorship disclosure
How we make money, and how we keep it away from the verdicts.
How triedagents is funded
The site and newsletter are free. They are paid for by direct sponsorships: a sponsor buys a week in the sponsor bar at the bottom of every page and a "Sponsored by" line in that week's emails (details and price on Sponsor). At most three sponsors are shown at a time.
How sponsored content is labelled
- The bottom bar is titled "Sponsors" and every entry in it is tagged "Sponsor".
- Sponsor links carry
rel="sponsored"and UTM tags so the sponsor can see visits came from us. - Newsletter placements say "Sponsored by".
- When a slot is unsold, the bar says "Your logo here". We never show fake sponsors.
- The case grid and case pages are never paid placements; their order does not depend on sponsorship.
What sponsors cannot do
Sponsors cannot buy, see in advance, edit or remove a verdict. If we test a sponsor's product, we use the same rubric and publish the result, including Failed, and the case says that the company is a sponsor.
Ads and affiliate links
We currently show only direct sponsorships. We do not run third-party ad networks and do not use affiliate links. If that changes, we will update this page and our privacy policy first.
