Line up chat, fee sheet and bank transfers to find an overpaid agency fee
On synthetic chat, fee-sheet and bank files the agent found the EUR 270 overpayment (EUR 8,470 agreed, EUR 8,740 paid), ignored 3 traps and drafted a Spanish refund request without sending it; capped at Partly because the data was synthetic.

Score and verdict differ. Every claim we could test held up, but L1 re-runs are capped at Partly: synthetic data written by the same assistant (not blind), no real account.

What was claimed
'The agency fee we agreed on was EUR 7,000 + 21% VAT = EUR 8,470 ... It went through my old WhatsApp chats with the agent, the handwritten fee sheet I signed and my bank transfers, and lined them all up. The agent had confirmed EUR 8,470 in writing, but I'd transferred EUR 8,740. ... drafted a polite refund request in Spanish for me to send.'

What we found
Found the EUR 270 overpayment: EUR 8,470 agreed in both the chat and the fee sheet, EUR 8,740 paid on 10 April 2024. None of the 3 traps was counted (the EUR 847 removals bill uses the same digits). The Spanish draft cites both written sources with dates, states the difference and asks for a refund to the buyer's account. Nothing was sent.
How we checked it
Answer key written before the files were generated. Not blind: the same assistant wrote the files, the key and the check.
What the agent did
- Answer key written (08:18:13), then synthetic files generated
- Read the agreed fee in the chat and on the fee sheet: EUR 7,000 + 21% VAT = EUR 8,470
- Found the transfer to the agency: EUR 8,740 on 10/04/2024
- Excluded escrow, notary copies and removals
- Drafted the refund request in Spanish (saved, not sent)

Where it went wrong
- Our 'handwritten' fee sheet was a typed transcription: reading real handwriting or a scanned deed was not tested.
- The chat was a clean text export; screenshots or voice notes were not tested.
- Looking up the agency's company details was not tested (fictional company).
- Not blind.
Try it yourself
Organise the paperwork for my flat purchase for my tax return: go through the WhatsApp chat with the agent, the fee sheet I signed and my bank transfers, line them up, and tell me if anything doesn't match. If I paid too much, draft a polite refund request in Spanish for me to send (don't send anything).
Lowest-access way to try it
L1. Export the chat as text, scan the fee sheet, download the bank statement as CSV. Ask the agent to quote where each amount comes from, and send any refund request yourself.
